XOP, Season Prep, Casual Rambling

First of all, I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am about the first round of hats! It really seemed like everyone liked them, and they sold like hot cakes. The problem is that every thing is so expensive to start up, eventually we will have hats and shirts all the time, but for now its hard to dish out a grand on a round of shirts. On the bright side we are looking at ordering some shirts in the next couple weeks, and then more hats after that. The next round of hats we might switch things up a little and try to keep them different then your average hats. Once again, thank you guys for the support, couldn’t be more ecstatic about it.

Brett and I both bought XOP tree stands this spring so we found some time to get those out in the woods and hang them try them out and honestly for a reasonably priced tree stand we are both impressed. Nobody wants to feel like they are being cheap on something that is so important to the hunt, but for the price point and the quality I couldn’t be happier. They set up easy and lock on to the tree great, one of my favorite parts is the seat, they actually have a good cushion, not just a 1” piece of foam. Speaking of foam, we also went out today and let a few arrows rip, its never a dull moment when me and Brett are together. Some casual missed targets and bullshitting is the best. Its about that time of the year where I start shooting a few arrows every night but working out of town this summer might put a damper on that, I’m still trying to find a way around it but we will see.

I haven’t been able to write much in the past few weeks, I have been in kind of a rut of working 6 days a week, having too many beers on Saturday night, and then chilling and doing laundry all day Sunday. But as the season gets closer I have a burning desire to keep after it, do a bunch of E scouting, and I need to get out and do some door knocking and try to get some more permission pieces. I went and drove around and checked out some public land over the 4th of July, some really promising land, hoping to have the time to invest on getting out there to check it out more and try to get on something. I went in on one logging road about 150 yards and came back out and got in my truck and couldn’t believe when I looked down at my legs how many wood ticks I had on my pants, I must’ve walked through a nest or something, I had to completely strip down to my underwear and shake off my clothes, and then continued to pick more off of my as I went on with my day, the local bartender even pointed out a couple crawling on my shirt.

All in all, an exciting summer so far, next weekend will be camera refresh, new batteries and SD cards, hanging a couple mock scrapes, and then letting everything sit until hunting season is here. Thanks for reading! Also, I forgot to add, I bought a camera! Hopefully this winter we will have some content on the YouTube channel, stay on the lookout!
